Remember My Love

It hurts sometimes but I still love you.
You came along and knocked down ever wall
You could see right through the fortress of my heart
and discovered what I never wanted anyone to see
that I just want to be loved.
No matter what I say.
No matter what I do.
Remember I will never stop loving you. I was meant for you and you were meant for me.

Take My Heart To The Moon

Take my heart to the Moon
Open the door because its coming soon
Lay it down and
Play my heart like a tune
Cover my thoughts from  what has gathered
Let the soul wander
Let the Sun beam with laughter
and bleed into me
All of forever
Let the wind howl
and breathe a cool breeze
to kiss my lips
Take my heart to the Moon
Where I can witness God's glory
Leave it all behind
The stars listen and whisper as they hear the story
Shining above all
Shining through all
Stay this night
The door is open for the soul to wander
No more judgment
Just the wonders of the heavens
 Earth itself can't touch
A memory  to gain if time allows
to  play my heart like a tune
Lay it down and
Bleed into me
the moon
 Take me in
Take me inside
What was hidden
With every measure
from ending to beginning
Take my heart to the Moon

Cab Rides and the Morning After- Alysia Harris

If you don't know about this diversely talented young black woman. Your definitely missing out, Alyisa Harris, is a new light and remote energy in the spoken word realm of poetry. Her creative expression is simply put beyond "Bananas"!! She can turn you up to new heights and slam you down with poetic truths of the darkest parts of your soul. Then pull you out again into the light and place you back on solid ground to cope with what has been left behind. Here is a little more about her background:

Currently a graduate student at Yale University pursuing a PhD in linguistics , she studies semantic change and aspectual shift in African American English and the genetic relationships between Semitic language. Though intrigued by the scientific study of language as a linguist, as a poet she uses it as a creative probe to explore the emotional, spiritual, and relational realms of the human experience. Alysia is a two-time national spoken word champion, being a member of the winning BNV 2007 and CUPSI 2007 teams. She also appeared on the HBO Documentary Russell Simmons Presents: Brave New Voices in 2009. Her poems have garnished well over 2 million views on YouTube and Alysia is currently curating a blog entitled Not Dalton’s Kids, which encourages and compiles creative submissions (poems, sculptures, paintings, drawings, photographs, songs, short stories, criticism) on the topic of racism and racial identity. Alysia is most passionate about God, love, and poetry. Her biggest loves in life are spontaneous group dance sessions, Hemingway, and clean endings. When not studying or writing, Alysia can be found dancing, Facebook stalking, crying over heartbreak, talking about theology, eating CLIF bars and hanging out in the deserts of the Middle East. She hopes in the future, after obtaining her PhD in linguistics, to get an MFA in creative writing and move to the North Africa to start a number creative writing programs in the region.http://www.last.fm/music/Alysia+Harris/+wiki

Define Your Sound: Soul Music

The very talented Chrisette Michele, was a guest artist on the Steve Harvey Morning Show on July 9, 2013. Everyone on the morning show was completely floored by her astonishing voice. As well as, her back ground singers and her acoustic guitarist was bagging out song after song. It was a collective master piece of musical majesty embodying jazz, r&b, and neo- soul. If you want the best music coming from any device you have that can play a tune. Download or buy her new album entitled "Better". Trust me you can't get any better than this.

Mali Music - Deep Blood Red

Lyrics:
Verse 1
I don't wanna blow things out of proportion.
I don't wanna cross the line drawn out in the sand,
but to ignore this would be abortion of a feeling that we now both know lives deep within.
So in spite of embarrassment or rejection it didn't matter I could not be negligent or ignore what I feel anymore.

Chorus
That's why deep blood red is all I see deep blood red is what I wanna be.
Oh how I'd shine,
Oh how proud I'd be if when you saw me you would see deep blood red,
red,
deep blood red.

Verse 2
I guess you can say I was inspired,
I guess you can tell my heart was moved,
with a yearning paramount desire,
To be something monumental to you.
So I'm taking this moment to bestow and present my heart to you,
To show you the weight of the magnitude of my interest in you.

Chorus
That's why deep blood red is all I see deep blood red it is what I wanna be.
Oh how I'd shine,
Oh how proud I'd be if when you saw me you would see deep blood red,
red,
deep blood red.

Bridge
In other words, there are no other words, above the word, destiny (destiny), me and you(me and you), you and me (you and me), could it be possibly (possibly), maybe can I be your favorite, just like deep blood red the one you love and you cherish like blood red.

Chorus
That's why deep blood red is all I see deep blood red is what I wanna be.
Oh how I'd shine,
Oh how proud I'd be if when you saw me you would see deep blood red,
red,
deep blood red,
would you see your favorite.
